The Vanderbilt-in-France program offers students with at least three semesters of college-level French the opportunity to immerse themselves in the French language and culture for one or two semesters. Available courses include French language training, literature, political science, art, French media, and film. Students proficient in French can also take courses at the Universite de Provence or from the Institute d’Etudes Politques d’Aix. Music majors also have the option of taking courses at the Conservatoire de Musique Darius Milhaud.
A true university town, Aix-en-Provence is home to numerous colleges and universities that serve about 40,000 students in the town of 140,000. Located in the south of France near the Mediterranean Sea, it is located three hours from Paris, and only two hours from Spain or Italy, providing students the opportunity to use the town as their center of operations for weekend trips throughout Europe.
